Teacher candidates’ reflective thinking skills (RTSs) and pedagogical competence in EFL classrooms

This study aimed to investigate the association between English as a foreign language (EFL) teacher candidates’ reflective thinking skills (RTSs) and pedagogical competence. Employing correlational study, questionnaire conveying four dimensions of RTSs report performance in microteaching course was used collect data on Using Google Forms, administered 52 EFL candidates. The descriptive statistics identified that candidates were categorized habitual action type. Pearson Product Moment yielded their had high positive statistically significant correlation, observed sig. value .766. finding confirmed bridged theoretical-practical divide, found predictive variable for Therefore, education programs need consider developing implementing training activities enhance student teachers’ RTSs, enabling them make better practices.
